Description

The inspiration for Fifty is taken from the Flag Halyard chair, the easy chair made from metal and rope that was created in 1950 in Denmark by Hans Wegner.
The duo Dögg & Arnved designed a straight back not only to provide relaxation but also for reading (or watching TV). Side panels woven into each side of the headrest promote the feeling of privacy. The 350 meters of rope used are woven in either grey, black or brown onto a black steel frame. The Fifty chair has a sculptural presence in the room and will attract attention because of its unexpected juxtaposition of the minimalism of the sign of its steel frame and the artistic warmth of the hand-woven rope. Fifty is also designed for outdoor use.
